Teulada lies in the Marina Alta district of northern Alicante, on the Costa Blanca between Benissa and Benitatxell. The municipality covers two quite different settings. The old town of Teulada sits inland on a rise, with narrow streets and a fortified stone church at its heart. Down on the coast is Moraira, a resort known for its marina, sandy coves, rocky stretches of shoreline and an old coastal watchtower. Between the two, hillsides of pine, vineyards and residential areas such as Canor, Benimarco and Benimeit look out towards the Mediterranean.
Life here is relaxed and outdoors for much of the year, with a mild climate, a good choice of restaurants and a settled international community alongside local families. The area has long been associated with Moscatel grapes and wine, and the weekly markets, local fiestas and seafront walks give it a steady rhythm through the seasons. Golf, sailing and walking in the surrounding countryside are all popular.
