Altea Hills is a residential estate set on the steep slopes between the town of Altea and the Sierra de Bernia, on the northern Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante. The estate climbs from near the coast towards the mountains, so many homes look out over the Mediterranean and the Bay of Altea. It is a gated community with controlled entry, which appeals to people who spend part of the year away from their home.
Life here is quiet and residential. The roads are winding and hilly, so most residents rely on a car. Altea's old town, with its whitewashed streets and blue-domed church, is a short drive away and has restaurants, shops and a seafront promenade. Marinas, beaches and golf are all within easy reach along the coast, and the larger towns of Calpe and Benidorm are nearby. The area enjoys the mild winters and long, dry summers typical of the Costa Blanca.
