Access is along a mostly concrete and tarmac road with plenty of parking around the house. The lane is narrow and winding, so it is not suitable for camper vans.

Vélez-Rubio is a handsome market town in the Los Vélez district of northern Almería. It is known for its baroque Church of La Encarnación and its elegant historic centre, and the Sierra de María-Los Vélez Natural Park lies close by. The town has shops, bars, restaurants, a weekly market and good A-7 motorway links towards Murcia and the coast.
